Activities

Scouts in Middlefield’s Troop 33 are on the go each week, each month, and throughout the year — exploring, having fun, forming new friendships, and learning new skills and the values that will help them become the leaders of tomorrow. They travel across New England — canoeing in Maine, hiking in New Hampshire, and honing winter skills in Vermont. Their adventures also take them farther afield: to Florida for scuba diving, the Bahamas for sailing, and West Virginia for the National Jamboree. Closer to home, they camp in every corner of Connecticut, march in Memorial Day parades, honor veterans, and support one another on the trail to earning the coveted Eagle badge.

Below are just SOME of the highlights from the past several years. Scouts challenge themselves mentally and physically as they earn merit badges, advance in rank, and work to uphold the ideals of the Scout Oath. And they are always ready for the next adventure.

Yearly

• Placing flags to honor Veterans at Middlefield and Durham cemeteries

• Courts of Honor (Scouts receive merit badges, rank advancements)

• Blue & Gold ceremony, new Scouts are welcomed into the Troop from Pack 33
